Cross plane engines

Cross plane engines are crankshaft design for piston engines with 90° angle between the crank throws. The cross-plane engines are mostly used in v8 cars.

 


Cross plane engine vs flat plane engines differences

 Flat plane engines throw the pistons in 180 degrees in the shape of arial view look like straight line. While the the cross plane throws the pistons in 90 degrees by creating cross design when viewed from above.
